CTC’s own Kody Ova, and his team Subjective Investments, recently won the Wisconsin Investment Partners‘ Mock Investment Challenge! The challenge is an annual WIP Associate competition aimed at strengthening and building better investors for the future.
“Going into my second year of the Mock Investment Challenge, I was excited to join a team of new and returning associates who provided their breadth and depth of knowledge to our analysis. Relying on our individual strengths, team Subjective Investment were able to WIPASS.”
Kody and a group of other associates were broken into teams and given one evening to complete an in-depth analysis of a common company who has pitched with WIP in the past. Later in the week, the investor teams presented their findings to a panel of expert judges composed of WIP members who are mainstays in the WI investment community. Teams were judged based on their evaluation and presentation. Kody’s winning team received the traveling WIPASS (WIP Associate) trophy.
“Being a WIP associate the last two years has allowed me to expand my knowledge of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Wisconsin. I have further connected with investors and companies across Wisconsin. This has allowed me to learn the ins and outs of venture investing and improve CTC programming through our new venture micro-grant program.”
CTC is constantly working to be involved in the community and learn about investment to help our clients. Current Wisconsin SBIR/STTR awardees could be eligible for our Venture Pitch assistance micro-grant which can reimburse up to $4,500, spent on hiring an independent, third party to assist in an array of tasks.
