On February 29th CTC hosted an in-depth workshop assisting 5 small businesses, some with MCW affiliation, to prepare a very important part of an NIH SBIR/STTR proposal. These five teams learned how to present their technology, commercial potential and the goals of their research project in a way where NIH reviewers would find favorable and fundable.
These companies, if selected by NIH, will receive up to $307,000 in non-dilutive funding. This hands-on, intimate workshop is part of CTC’s new SBIR concierge service, focusing on one-on-one, customized support for every client. If these Phase 1s are successful they will then have a year to assemble a Phase 2 proposal that could fund them Up to $2,000,000 over 2 years. This workshop was a follow on from the January MCW CTC co-hosted From Idea to Product.
The CTC, housed in the Universities of Wisconsin’s Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship, assists small businesses and researchers prepare to apply for the federal SBIR/STTR program. With events, programs, partnerships and grant funding CTC is Wisconsin’s free resource for innovation funding.
