Are you a small business owner with an idea for a new environmental technology? EPA’s SBIR Program may represent an opportunity to help advance and commercialize your innovation. The EPA offers one funding round per year, and has recently announced that this year’s topics will be released in June 2024. The EPA will hold an informational webinar prior to the release on June 5, 2024, at 1 p.m. Central. Find the proposed topics for this year.
There are five main topic areas:
- Clean & safe water
- Air quality & climate
- Homeland security
- Circular economy/Sustainable materials
- Safer chemicals
Each main topic will have a few subtopics. If you have a technology that is responsive to this year’s offerings, consider applying to receive a $100,000 grant from the EPA to show proof of concept for your innovation. Phase I winners will be eligible to apply for $400,000 Phase II grants in October of this year. Remember that the CTC will provide you with a micro-grant of up to $4500 to write your Phase I grant.
