2023 Governor’s Business Plan Contest: Ideas from 16 of the 26 finalists

Twenty-six entries representing sectors such as health care, cleantech, education, software and innovations in products or services are competing in the finalist round of the 20th annual Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest. Learn more about the finalists that our IBE program units have assisted!

Businesses that have worked with the Center for Technology Commercialization (CTC), Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network, Food Finance Institute or multiple programs:

  • AntiMussel of Plymouth, planning to tackle Lake Michigan’s zebra mussel problem by deploying boats to work on an automated path to vacuum up the invasive species and convert them into calcium carbonate
  • Chocolate Rescue for Dogs Co. of Germantown, creating the first and only at-home remedy for chocolate indigestion in dogs
  • Divorce in a Day of Altoona, simplifying the divorce process so you can enter the next chapter in your life
  • EduReality of Madison, developing high quality Virtual Reality Simulations to improve hands-on experiences in STEM education
  • Empower2Retain of Eau Claire, intentionally developing a workforce pipeline through relationship building
  • Energy Tech Innovations of Milwaukee, developing a low-cost, water-based gas treatment method that will convert biogas into renewable natural gas
  • EzraBio of Madison, providing quick and easy RNA adenylation technology, enabling ribosome profiling without limitations
  • Flux XII of Madison, developing a safe, sustainable and affordable flow battery chemistry to keep your renewable energy running
  • Gud Medical of Winneconne, striving to be a leader in precisely delivering medicine and intravenous fluids
  • Graceful Management Systems of Madison, serving the construction industry with an intelligent cloud-based (SaaS) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system specifically designed for the industry
  • Internship on Demand of Madison, connecting students and employers by developing customized, virtual pre-internship programs
  • Kids In Combat Boots of Sheboygan, helping to create a ‘hometown’ for and recognize the service of children of military partners whose frequent displacement can lead to struggles with identity and coping mechanisms
  • OurGov of Madison, aiming to save time (and money) for those involved in Wisconsin’s legislative process
  • SixLine Semiconductor of Middleton, commercializing breakthroughs in carbon nanotube processing to unlock the next generation of high-performance, cost-effective semiconductor devices
  • Spraycision of Madison, primarily serving the paint and pressure washing industries as a premier national provider of spray equipment and parts
  • Water Intelligence of Milwaukee, designing AI video monitoring technology for quality and sewer system water flow

What’s next? Finalists will submit a 15-minute pitch deck for review by a panel of about 75 judges. In late May, the “Diligent Dozen,” aka the top 12, will be chosen. On May 31, they will present at the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference, where winners will be announced live!
